Medicare Options for Retirees upon turning 65

Upon turning 65 Plan Participants  should apply for Medicare if not drawing Social Security, or will automatically be enrolled if

drawing their Social Security Benefit:

Part A:  Covers Hospital Room and Board- no premium

Part B:  Covers, Doctors, Surgeries, Medical Tests & Equipment

-has a premium of $170.10 per month in 2022

Participants have a choice of 2 Medicare Advantage (Part C) options from Aetna offered through Local 2: 

  • National Network of Providers
  • Part D with no Donut hole included in Plan

 or…

can choose a Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C) or Supplement Plan with a Part D that fit their health and budget from a Private Medicare Insurance Carrier of their choice.
